I am currently a PhD student with Ryan Hayward at Polymer Science and Engineering, UMass Amherst. I use concepts from material science and soft matter mechanics for studying systems which can change geometry or other properties under an external stimulus. I rely heavily on rapid prototyping and enjoy building custom lab setups for my research. Broadly, I am interested in learning from biological systems which tune their behavior according to their environment. Find more on the research page, or read my publications.
I come from a small city in central India, Jabalpur and got my Bachelors and Masters in Polymer Science and Technology from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT-R).
My hobbies include photography, though recently I have been doing a lot of DIY with Arduino and other open source hardware. I also fold origami, and am a licensed Scuba diver.
